How can I arrange a tour of Braemar House School?

How much does it cost to send my child to Braemar House School?
Our fees remain very reasonable. In addiiton, Braemar House School is a not-for-profit private school which ensures that 100% of tuition and fundraising dollars are re-invested in our school and our students. Please see our Fee Schedule for more information.
How many students are at Braemar House School?
We currently have 124 students, and, in addition to Montessori and Prep One, we offer straight grades from grade 1 to grade 8.
What are your school hours?
Our school day starts with the bell at 9:00 a.m. followed by announcements. At the end of the day classes end a 3:30 p.m. Supervised Before Care is availabe from 8:00 until 8:45 a.m. and our After Care program runs from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.
Are your teachers certified?
Yes. All of our elementary teachers hold an Ontario Bachelor of Education or equivalent. Our Montessori teachers are fully qualified Montessori trained teachers.
Do you do standardized testing?
Each October, students from Grades 1 to 8 complete the Canadian Achievement Tests (CAT 4). We believe the CAT 4 tests provide individualized, highly informative and timely results that allow us to assess each child's strenghts and weaknesses and thereby allow their teachers to better meet your child's needs.

Does Braemar House School provide a lunch program?
Yes, we offer a hot lunch program each Tuesday and Thursday, through The Lunch Wizard. More information is available under Hot Lunch Program.
Does Braemar House School have a religious affiliation?
Braemar does not have any religious affiliation. We are an inter-faith school.
Is it possible to enroll in Braemar House School in any academic year ?
We do accept candidates at all other grade levels. Admission is dependent upon availability of space and applicants will still be required to follow our admissions proceedures, including an Obervation Period.
Is it possible to enroll in Braemar House School during the academic year?
Situations may arise that result in families looking to apply to school mid-year and Braemar House School may be able to accomodate such needs. Our ability to offer a place during the academic year will depend upon space availability, the student’s academic record, as well as other factors. The decision is at the discretion of the Board of Directors and all such students will still be required to follow our admissions proceedures, including an Obersvation Period. We would be pleased to discuss any such situation with you.
Does Braemar House School offer tuition assistance?
Although Braemar does not have a bursary program, we offer several payment plan options to assist familiies in meeting the financial requirement of paying tuition. In addition, grants may be possible through the Children's First School Choice Trust or the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation.
Can we get a tax receipt for any of the fees?
There are some expenses which may be claimed by certain parents as child care expenses. You will receive a receipt for the allowable amounts which can be applied as a tax credit.
