Striving for Excellence means doing more than required.
While Braemar House School follows the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Guidelines, that is just a start. Our Education Committee has developed specialized programming that provides our students with significant enhanced and enriched learning opportunities.
Whole school enhanced learning experiences and grade specific enrichment activities provide unique and motivating learning opportunities for students; field trips, guest speakers, special events, and relevant presentations contribute significantly to our students’ learning.
While these programs may change slightly from year to year to ensure that we are providing the best possible breadth of education to our students, some of our enhanced programming has included:
Enhanced Learning Experiences - whole school activities that have an educational value and are often organized as multi-grade group activities.
- Spring Musical
- Christmas Concert
- Science Fair
- Art Show
- Orienteering
- School Food Garden
- and more
In addition to the above we offer a school wide 8 week Swimming Program and competitive Track and Field for all students.
Classroom Enrichment - specific activities as a class experience that go beyond the curriculum.
- cooking
- Medieval Times
- Olympic Games
- music programming in every grade
- citizenship programming in every grade
- and more
Enrichment Workshops - enrichment activities specifically intended for a target group (either by interest or age) such as our Lit Is It enhanced reading club.
