Music Program

The music curriculum is intended to help students develop an understanding and appreciation of music. Qualified instruction also ensures students acquire the ability to play several different instruments. The Braemar Choir, Handbell Choir, and Classical Guitar Ensemble provide valuable performance opportunities for students.

Classical Guitar - Grade 7 & 8

Patrick Feely
Diploma in Music (Mohawk College),
Bachelor of Music (McMaster University),
Masters in Music Performance (University of Toronto),
A.R.C.T. Per.

Mr. Feely has been teaching guitar to students for more than twenty years and has created a fun, yet pedagogically sound, guitar orchestra program for our grade seven and eight students. The curriculum is performance based with the ensemble performing each month at formal assemblies and annually at the Kiwanis music festival. This year the orchestra is excited to be releasing a C.D. of their favorite pieces with proceeds going to one of the school s compassion ministries. An active performer, Mr. Feely has appeared as soloist with orchestras and ensembles throughout Ontario including the Brantford Chambers Players Orchestra and The Grand River Trio. Mr. Feely is currently the "Professor of Classical Guitar Studies" with the Faculty of the Arts at McMaster University in Hamilton, and is also the Department Head for Guitar with the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival. www.patfeely.com
