Our youngest Braemar students are enrolled in our Montessori program for 3 and 4 years olds and in our “Prep One” Program for 5 year olds. Taking full advantage of the hands-on inspired learning, concept building and critical thinking skills that come with a Montessori introduction to school, the Montessori program is followed by our unique and innovative Prep One program. Students in these pre Grade One programs make an effective transition to the more traditional learning environments found in our Grade 1 to 8 elementary school programs.

Mr. Griffin is an enthusiastic and caring educator, and with experience in both Montessori and Kindergarten programming, is able to take full advantage of the hands-on inspired learning that comes with a Montessori introduction to school while successfully preparing students for our traditional Grade One program. His students are inspired to give their best. Children benefit from the concept building and critical thinking skills inherent in the Montessori curriculum, with hands on learning and teacher led lessons, seatwork and workbooks, and as a result are successfully exceeding the Ministry of Education's targets set for Kindergarten.
We believe creativity flourishes in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. We believe whole heartedly in the philosophy “Please don’t do for me what I can do for myself”. - Andrea Whittaker and Christina Allwood
I believe that learning can be fun! I endeavour to create a warm, positive, and nurturing environment - fostering independence, respect and a strong sense of community. By the end of Prep One, these students are thoroughly prepared for their transition into our Grade 1 program and I wish them a wonderful lifetime of learning! - David Griffin
