Alumni!

We are working on engaging with our alumni and want to create an Alumni Association.  If you are an alumni and want to join the Alumni Association as a “Class Rep’, please email Mrs Pass at director@braemarhouseschool.ca.

The Scholarship Fund of the James Hillier Foundation is intended to aid specific students in Brant County. Dr. Hillier said, "I would probably never have gone to University if it had not been for a scholarship I received upon graduation from Brantford Collegiate Institute."

Candidates for the scholarship must be recommended by their high school principal. The student is a graduate of a high school located in Brantford or Brant County and has demonstrated or indicated interest in scientific research and been accepted to a college or university that has an appropriate accredited curriculum and have signified their intentions of pursuing scientific technological careers.

Taif Ali

  • Graduated from Braemar in 2016

  • Attended Assumption College, Graduated 2020

  • High School Awards:  Honour RollHealth and Wellness with a Health Care focus specialist high skills major graduate, Advanced Placement CertificationFrench Certificate, Highest standing scholarships in French, Biology and Kinesiology, Prefect Award and the Advanced Placement Science Award, James Hillier Scholarship, an award given to acknowledge high academic achievement and a keen interest in scientific research, Maple Arbour Trust Foundation Scholarship presented by the Canadian Federation of University Women. This scholarship is presented to the top two highest academic ranking females in Brantford and Brant CountyAssumption College School Letter, an award the recognizes academic excellence and exceptional involvement and contribution to school life

  • Currently Attending Western University for Medical Sciences

  • Other Interests: Joined Western’s MusicBox Charity chapter, an organization dedicated to delivering a music education to vulnerable children in the London region

Erika Kunej

  • Graduated from Braemar in 2017

  • Attending North Park Collegiate, graduating 2021

  • High School Awards: Honour Roll, Grade 9 Design and Technology Award, Grade 11 Physics Award, Grade 10 Track & Field MVP, Grade 11 Athlete of the Year

  • Will be attending the University of Waterloo for Environmental Science

  • Currently working on a science project for the BASEF Competition

Darien Cowell

  • Graduated from Braemar in 2004

  • Attended St. John's College, graduated 2008

  • High School Award: Ontario Scholar Award

  • Attended Wilfred Laurier and Nipissing University, studied the Concurrent Education Program

  • Certified teacher, has taught as a supply teacher for Braemar in 2015

  • Married to Andrew Neill (also a Braemar Alumni!) and mom to two children who are both attend Braemar as well!

Lisa Minutillo

  • Graduated from Braemar in 2005

  • Attended Queen's University

  • Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in History and English

  • Varsity Athlete on the Queen's University Women's Basketball team         

  • Traveled to Belize in 2014 to teach Health Education in Primary and Secondary schools

  • Currently living in France teaching and substitute teaching virtually for Braemar

  • Bachelor of Applied Science: Biomedical Engineering      

  • Software Engineer for Athos: sports wearable technology company based in California

  • Co-founder of Cadera: building training simulators for pediatricians

Maeve McNaughton

  • Attended Brantford Collegiate Institute, Graduated 2019

  • High School Awards: Honour Roll, Excellence in Technical Theatre Production Certificate, Ontario Scholar, Outstanding Citizen Award

  • Attending Ryerson University for Radio Television Art's Media Production Program, Bachelor of Arts with minors in Law and French

  • Working with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association - Audio Team Member for 'Justice Vs.' podcast

  • Planning to attend Law School

  • Attending University of Toronto: studying Engineering Science, majoring in Machine Artificial Intelligence
